Cameroon thumps Bahlabani at home |

MASERU-Cameroon Under-17 national team thumped Bahlabani 3-0 in the first leg of the African youth championship at Setsoto Stadium on Sunday. Franck Dickai’s two goals and an own goal from Lesotho’s defender Rantsoti Phokoane buried Basotho’s hopes for a win. All three goals came in the first half of the match. In the opening minutes Bahlabani showed more hunger for goals, evading the visitor’s danger zone several times. |

MASERU-Qoaling Highlanders beat Matlama 2-1 in a one day tournament last weekend. Highlanders, Matlama, Naughty Boys and Hunters took part in tournament. Highlanders beat Hunters 2-1 and Matlama won 1-0 against Maseru Naughty Boys in the second semi final. The tournament is said to have been initiated by Matlama. ANGOLA- Lesotho Under-20 Makoanyane lost two of their important matches ahead of their African Youth Championship game against Kenya next month. They suffered 0-4 to Angola. |

BUTHA BUTHE-Four high schools have qualified for the Top 4 basketball tournament to be played this weekend after beating their counterparts in the quarter finals played in Butha Buthe. Methodist, Machabeng, St Patrick’s and St Stephens qualified in the male category while St Boniface, St James, St Patrick’s and Johnson Baker will be represented by their female teams. Methodist High School faces an uphill battle when they play against Machabeng College in the opening match. |

Paramus - Matt Kuchar beat Scotland's Martin Laird on the first playoff hole to win The Barclays tournament on Sunday as Tiger Woods easily advanced to the second round of the PGA Tour's playoff series. American Kuchar posted his first win of 2010 in tremendous fashion. He hit a superb seven-iron approach shot on the only hole of the playoff as his ball caught the edge of the slope and curled around the green to just 76 centimetres (30 inches) from the cup. |

New York - Roger Federer is bringing aboard Paul Annacone as his coach for the US Open and "going forward." Federer wrote on his website on Saturday that "Paul and I have had a good trial period." Annacone, an American, is the former coach of Pete Sampras, Marat Safin and Tim Henman. He has been the head coach of men's tennis for Britain's Lawn Tennis Association, and Federer says Annacone will work with him "more and more as his responsibilities with LTA wind down." |
