The Lesotho Electricity Company (Pty) Ltd (LEC) invites sealed bids from eligible bidders (Equipment manufacturers and Electrical Contractors) for the provision of necessary goods and works, design, labour, materials, equipment, installation, commissioning, testing, and other technical engineering services necessary for the successful completion of THE SUPPLY, INSTALLATION AND COMISSIONING OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT AT VARIOUS LEC 33/11 kV SUBSTATIONS.
The works involve but not limited to the following;
· Supply, installation and commissioning of 33kV CTs
· Supply, installation and commissioning of 33kV VTs
· Supply, installation and commissioning of 33kV and 11kV surge arrestors
· Supply, installation and commissioning of 11kV indoor switchgear
· Supply and installation of steel work to accommodate new outdoor equipment onto existing support structures
· Comprehensive contracts management
· Testing and commissioning of the electrical equipment and overall commissioning

Bids must be delivered to the tender box located at LEC Management Block reception on or before 12:00hrs on Thursday 29th October 2010, and must be accompanied by a refundable bid security of M5,000.00. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 12:15hrs on Thursday 29th October 2010 at LEC offices.
Site Visit: The bidder is advised that it is his responsibility to visit and examine the site of works and its surroundings and obtain for himself, all information that may be necessary for preparing the tender and entering into a contract. The costs of visiting the site and obtaining the necessary information shall be borne by the bidders. There will be a compulsory pre-bid meeting that will be followed by a site visit for tenderers that wish to inspect the site conditions on the 14th October 2010 at 10H45 at the LEC Training Centre.
Clarifications shall be communicated in writing seven (7) calendar days before the tender closing date.
